About Keegs Bantom

Keegan Bantom is a Sound Engineer, Producer and DJ. As a young high school student Keegan found his passion for music. He began his journey of producing music in 2005 when a high school friend gave him the well-known production software, Fruity Loops, he first started with producing hip-hop music but as Keegan grew older his taste in music had changed, he began to take an interest in house music and so began his career.

In high school Keegan and his long-time friend, Justin, began producing house music. Together they called themselves Midnight Productions, they made a mixtape and sold it to their friends, the CD’s became so popular that they had made a second mixtape. After Keegan matriculated he studied Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering and majored in Broadcast Engineering.

In 2010 Keegan was asked by Mapeps to join his record label and DJ crew, Colourblind, they released their first track “Aji” not too long after accepting Mapeps’ proposal, this song was in the top 100 on what was one of South Africa’s top music download sites, Afrodesia, at the time. Keegan then began to work with various vocalists and producers such as Osborn and Oscar Toorn; Lester; Monalisa; Penny Lacoste; G-Funk; Don1 and Mapeps. He has released tracks under Colourblind, Deep Resolute and UNO Mas Recordings.

In 2014 Keegs started up a podcast show called TrueColours, this is in association with Colourblind. The show is podcast once a month, it includes a mix by one of Colourblinds resident DJ’s and a guest mix by other house DJ’s. After the show became a success Colourblind decided to host parties in the name of TrueColours. Keegs is the main host of these parties. Since the show began it has become increasingly popular and is gaining a much wider audience than expected.
